The European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems 2017 (www.efecs.eu), co-organised by Aeneas, ARTEMIS, EPoSS, ECSEL JU and the European Commission, took place in Brussels, December 5-7, 2017. The event featured an exhibition about running R&D&I projects disseminating their progress and results. IoSense was presented by the Coordinator and his team including posters with a general project overview as well as dedicated posters on two demonstrators.
IoSense-Partner FH Burgenland (Austria) contributed a poster and a video clip explaining innovation aspects of the IoSense demonstrator AdCon (Advanced Control for energy-efficient Smart Energy Systems) which offers new approaches for sustainable energy generation, reduction and management in energy efficient buildings for urban environments in Europe. AdCon mainly focuses on building air quality related gas sensor networks, which open new applications for energy efficient ventilation systems.
IoSense-Partner Philips Lighting (Netherlands) showcased a poster and hardware related to the IoSense demonstrator SmIght (Smart lighting). Exploiting the intelligence and connectivity available in the next generation outdoor luminaires will significantly improve the quality of service. Remote diagnostics via sensing solutions and data analytics lowers maintenance costs. In terms of impact: In Europe are more than 90 million street lights. Taking a conservative estimate that remote diagnostics can improve the operational efficiency with 10% translates in a market potential of €130 million.
